Q. What kind of wax is used when making Scentsy Bars?
A. We use a custom, food-grade paraffin wax blend. Our wax blend is designed for a specific scent-load and melt point.
Q. What kind of oil does Scentsy use in its products?
A. Non-essential fragrance oil.
Q. Do I use a whole Scentsy Bar at a time?
A. Scentsy Wax Bars come in eight break-apart sections. One or more sections can be used according to preference. Scentsy Plug-In Warmers are designed to hold only one section at a time.
Q. How hot does the wax get when warmed?
A. Scentsy Bars in Scentsy warmers melt at 125 degrees Fahrenheit when used with the correct bulbs (25-watt for Full-Size Warmers, 20-watt for Mid-Size Warmers and 15-watt for Plug-In Warmers); This temperature is typical of a paraffin cosmetic dip. The wax will not burn children or pets.
Q. How do I clean the wax out of the warmer?
A. While the wax is warmed and melted, pour into a disposable container and wipe the warmer with a paper towel or napkin.
Q. What wattage of light bulb does the warmer use?
A. Use only a 25-watt light bulb for Full-Size Warmers. Use only a 20-watt light bulb for Mid-Size Warmers. Use only a 15-watt light bulb in the Plug-In Warmer. Each new warmer comes with a light bulb. Replacement bulbs can be purchased online under Replacement Parts tab.
Q. How often does Scentsy come out with a new catalog?
A. Twice a year….one in the Spring (March) and one in the Fall (September).
Shipping Questions
Q. How much is shipping if I purchase online?
A. Within the Contiguous United States: Orders with a retail value of $0.1-$149.99, shipping is 10% of product total. For orders with a retail value of $150 or more, shipping is FREE.
For orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam or Puerto Rico: Orders with a retail value of $0.1-$149.99, shipping is 20% of product total. For orders with a retail value of $150 or more, shipping is a discounted rate of 10% of product total.
For orders shipped to Canada: Orders with a retail value of $0.1-$199.99, shipping is 20% of product total. For orders of $200 or more retail value, shipping is a dicounted rate of 10% of product total.
Q. How long will I have to wait for delivery?
A. Within two to three weeks from the date the order is submitted.
Q. How will my order ship if I purchase online? How will I know my order has shipped?
A. Your order will ship directly from Scentsy to you via UPS Ground. If you provide an email address while placing your order, Scentsy will notify you when your order has shipped.
Q. Is Expedited shipping available?
A. No, Scentsy only ships via UPS Ground.
Scentsy Consultant Questions
How do I get started?
A: Joining is simple. Join Scentsy online. Scentsy will send your starter kit for just $99 (plus tax and shipping) that includes tester fragrances, business supplies, and demo products. As your Sponsor, I will help you get started and show you how to make the most of Scentsy’s training and support tools.
Q: How much can I expect to earn?
A: The amount you can earn depends completely on how much time and energy you want to invest. Consultants make 20% – 30% commission on their own sales as well as additional bonuses on the sales of other Consultants they sponsor. Some of our Consultants opt to sell just enough to get their Scentsy products at a discount, while our Superstar Directors can make six figure incomes per year.
Q: What other benefits does Scentsy offer to Consultants?
A: Every Scentsy Consultant gets a free website for 3 full months ($10/month after that), a free online workstation to organize and run his/her business (we call it the back office), free credit card processing, no inventory to manage, no credit card fees and free shipping on orders over $150 (discounted shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam or Puerto Rico).
Q: What kind of support and training does Scentsy provide?
A: At Scentsy, Consultants are truly sponsored and mentored, not just recruited. Along with support from your Sponsor and your upline Director (your Sponsor’s Sponsor), you’ll get access to web-based training tools and an online forum for connecting with fellow Consultants. We’ll send you a New Consultant Start-Up Guide, promotional products and marketing tools.
Scentsy’s fully-staffed Consultant Support Department is available every weekday from 7 am to 7 pm. We also hold an annual convention and seasonal training and networking events throughout the U.S.
Q: Are there any scripts to memorize or a dress code for parties?
A: Definitely not! We do provide great training tools and advice on how to have a successful party, but the way you run your parties—and your business—is entirely up to you. From formal presentations to completely unstructured gatherings to one-on-one visits, the choice is yours. We intentionally keep our product line and pricing simple because that makes it easy for our Consultants to relax and be themselves.
Q: Will I be obligated to meet any sales quotas?
A: In order to maintain “active” status, you need to place at least $150 in orders during one out of every three months. You’re free to schedule as many or as few parties as you like and sell as much or as little product as you like. You can also act as your own Hostess and Consultant.
Q: What if this just doesn’t work for me?
A: At Scentsy we realize that, even with the best of intentions on both sides, not all partnerships are meant to be. As a Consultant or a Hostess you’re free to leave Scentsy at any time. There is no cancellation penalty.
